Introduction
Gamma-synuclein is a neuronal protein found in the peripheral and motor nervous systems. It is thought to be associated with hippocampal axonal lesions in Parkinson's disease. Changes in the expression of γ-synuclein have been observed in the retina of patients with Alzheimer's disease. Its expression in breast tumors is also a marker of tumor progression.
