The AAV5 ELISA Control consists of fully assembled, empty AAV5 capsids. It represents the serotype-specific conformational epitopes and is therefore a reliable positive control in detection and quantification assays based on AAV antibodies detecting the conformational epitopes, such as ELISA.

7.9E+09 – 1.3E+10 capsids/ml after reconstitution in 500 μl ASSB 1x (please find the lot-specific concentration on the CoA and on the vial)
Reconstitution
Reconstitute in 500 μl ASSB 1x, incubate 5 min at RT and mix by rolling 5 min. Avoid vortexing! The final solution contains stabilizing protein, phenol red and ASSB 1x buffer.
Introduction
Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) is a nonpathogenic virus species that belongs to the Parvoviridae family. AAV is classified as small (25nm) and contains a single-stranded nonenveloped DNA genome. Infection with AAV occurs only with the help of other viruses, either herpesvirus or adenovirus (hence adeno-associated virus), causing only a very mild immune response in humans. There are twelve serotypes of human AAV but the number of nonhuman AAVs exceeds 100. AAV2 is the only mammalian DNA virus that is known to integrate in a specific site of the genome.
