Sample
Milk, shrimp and fish sample types
Intended Use
The Sulfonamides ELISA is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of Sulfonamides in milk, shrimp and fish sample types. The kit has the following features:
1. High recovery (>80%)
2. low detection limit (0.4 ng/g or ppb) for chicken pork shrimp and fish samples
3. A quick ELISA assay (less than one hour regardless of number of samples)
Contents of Kit
The Sulfonamides ELISA has the capacity for testing of 96 samples/controls. Return any unused microwells to the foil bag and reseal them with the desiccant provided in the original package. The shelf life is at least 12 months when the kit is properly stored.
1. Sulfonamides Antigen-coated Plate, 1 × 96-well Plate (8 wells × 12 strips), 2-8°C
2. Sulfamethoxazole Standards, 2-8°C*

General Description
Sulfonamides (Sulfa drugs) are N-substituted derivatives of sulfanilamide, a group of amide of para amino benzene sulfonic acid which are widely used in veterinary medicine for the prevention and therapy of bacterial and protozoal infections due to their broad-spectrum antibacterial, low price, stable properties, and excellent therapeutic effects. However, the residues of sulfonamides in food could cause allergic reactions, urination and hematopoietic disorder. Long-term accumulation may deal great harm to human health because it may cause damage to kidney function, drug resistance, carcinogenicity, etc. To ensure food safety for consumers, EU Commission, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have laid down 100 ppb as the maximum residue limit (MRL) on the residues of sulfonamides in animal tissues including fish and shrimp.
Standard Curve
A standard curve can be constructed by plotting the mean relative absorbance (%) obtained from each reference standard against its concentration in ng/mL on a logarithmic curve.

Use the mean relative absorbance values for each sample to determine the corresponding concentration of the tested drug in ng/mL from the standard curve.
