General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-22658) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CKM, targeting the amino acid region 1–381 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human CKM from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. The CKM gene encodes the muscle-type subunit of creatine kinase (CK), a cytoplasmic enzyme essential for maintaining energy homeostasis in tissues with high and fluctuating energy demands, such as skeletal muscle and heart. This enzyme catalyzes the reversible transfer of a phosphate group from phosphocreatine to adenosine diphosphate (ADP), thereby generating adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to support cellular functions during periods of intense activity. In humans, the CKM protein forms homodimers (CK-MM isozyme) predominantly in striated muscle, while it can also heterodimerize with the brain-type subunit (encoded by the CKB gene) to produce the CK-MB isozyme found in cardiac tissue. Elevated serum levels of CK-MM and CK-MB serve as key diagnostic markers for myocardial infarction and muscle damage, respectively.
DPABH-22658 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-22658 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
