General Notes
Clone 20 and 39 are specific to ZnT8. They have no detectable reactivity to a panel of human ZnT homologs (ZnT1, ZnT2, ZnT3, ZnT4, ZnT7, ZnT8, or ZnT10) on immunoblots. These mAbs recognize folded ZnT8 and are capable of protecting ZnT8 from unfolding and partially inhibiting ZnT8 transport activity. The folding dependence does not preclude these mAbs from recognizing denatured ZnT8 on SDS-PAGE, but the reactivity of clone 39 is reduced.
