Intended Use
The test is a qualitative micromethod employing biochemical apporaches for the identification of Salmonella spp. from food and water, it can also be used for screening or vadidating pathogenic organisms from feces, urine, blood and other relevant clinical specimen.
Storage
The microwell strips are stable in the room temperature away from sunlight for one year. Triple Sugar Iron (TSI) is stable at 2-8 °C away from sunlight for 1 year.
General Description
Salmonella is one of the most common causes of foodborne illness. Most persons infected with Salmonella develop diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps 12 to 72 hours after infection. The two species of Salmonella are Salmonella enterica and Salmonella bongori.
