General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-01483) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human TP53, targeting the amino acid region 7–393 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. p53 is a nuclear transcription factor and tumor suppressor protein encoded by the TP53 gene on the short arm of human chromosome 17 at position 17p13.1, renowned for its role as the "guardian of the genome" in maintaining genomic integrity and preventing tumorigenesis. Discovered in 1979 by researchers David Lane and Lionel Crawford as a 53-kilodalton host protein bound to the SV40 large T antigen in virus-transformed cells, p53 was initially mistaken for an oncogene due to its association with viral transformation. It was only in 1989 that studies revealed its true function as a tumor suppressor, marking a pivotal shift in understanding its role in cancer biology.
DPABH-01483 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-01483 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
