General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-11170) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human TFRC, targeting the amino acid region 511–751 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1, also known as CD71), encoded by the TFRC gene, is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein consisting of monomers with a molecular weight of approximately 90–97 kDa that form a disulfide-linked homodimer of approximately 180 kDa and serves as the principal mediator of cellular iron uptake across most tissues. It consists of a short N-terminal cytoplasmic domain (residues 1–67), a single transmembrane helix (residues 68–88), and a large extracellular ectodomain (residues 89–760) responsible for ligand binding, with three N-linked and one O-linked glycosylation sites contributing to its stability and function. TfR1 is widely expressed, with particularly high levels in erythroid precursors, placental tissue, and renal proximal tubules, where it plays a critical role in supporting rapid cell proliferation and differentiation.
DPABH-11170 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-11170 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
