Animals were immunized with the SV40 transformed 3T3 clone 4 mouse cell line (B4). Spleen cells were fused with NS-1 myeloma cells. The antibody reacts with a denaturation sensitive determinant on the large T antigen. Reacts strongly by immunofluorescence with nuclei of SV40 transformed cells but not with BK virus infected human cells. The antibody precipitates large T antigen and NVT (when complexed) but not small t antigen (nor the smaller SV-80 t antigen) from extracts of SV-80 cells and SV40 infected TC-7 cells. Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).
