Animals were immunized with the major protein peak (G-200 fractionation) of delipidated human high density lipoprotein (HDL). Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells. The antibody binds to an epitope in amino acids 126 through 191 on human ApoE. It can block ApoE mediated binding of lipoproteins to the the low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor.
