General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-15290) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human APOE, targeting the amino acid region 19–209 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Apolipoprotein E (ApoE) is a multifunctional 299-amino acid glycoprotein that serves as a key mediator of lipid transport and metabolism in mammals, facilitating the redistribution of cholesterol and other lipids among tissues via lipoprotein particles in both the peripheral circulation and the central nervous system (CNS). Encoded by the APOE gene on chromosome 19, ApoE is primarily synthesized in the liver by hepatocytes for plasma functions and in the brain by astrocytes for CNS homeostasis, with additional production in macrophages, adrenal glands, and other peripheral tissues. Its structure consists of an N-terminal domain forming a four-helix bundle for receptor binding (residues 1–191, with the critical region at 136–150) and a C-terminal domain for lipid association via amphipathic α-helices (residues 192–299, key region 244–272), connected by a flexible hinge that influences its conformational flexibility and ligand interactions.
DPABH-15290 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-15290 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
