General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-L1342W) is a humanized-derived monoclonal antibody raised against human LEP. Leptin (LEP), also known as the anti-obesity factor, is a hormone-like protein primarily produced by adipocytes in white adipose tissue and, to a lesser extent, in brown adipose tissue. It is also expressed in several other tissues, including the placenta (syncytiotrophoblast layer), ovary, skeletal muscle, stomach (particularly the basal glands), mammary epithelial cells, bone marrow, chief cells, and P/D1 cells. The human leptin (LEP) gene is located on chromosome 7. It encodes a 167-amino-acid precursor protein, including a 21-amino-acid N-terminal signal peptide that is cleaved during secretion. The mature leptin protein contains an intramolecular disulfide bond and is predicted to adopt a structure predominantly composed of α-helices, characteristic of long-chain helical cytokines.
CABT-L1342W is suitable for use in lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA), CLIA applications.
CABT-L1342W is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
