General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DMAB-CBAS117) is a mouse-derived monoclonal antibody raised against human CXCL8. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. CXCL8, also known as interleukin-8 (IL-8), is a potent neutrophil-attracting and -activating chemokine that plays a crucial role in the inflammatory response. CXCL8 is involved in the recruitment and migration of various immune cells, particularly neutrophils, to sites of inflammation. This can lead to the development of different inflammatory diseases, such as airway, gastrointestinal, neurological, and autoimmune diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus. Elevated levels of CXCL8 have been found in inflamed tissues and the blood circulation in several inflammatory conditions. In addition, CXCL8 has been implicated in tumor biology, as it can promote cancer cell proliferation, survival, and angiogenesis in various types of cancer, including breast, prostate, lung, and colon cancer. Specific genetic polymorphisms in the CXCL8 gene have been associated with an increased risk or progression of certain cancers. Overall, the CXCL8-CXCR1/2 axis plays a significant role in both inflammatory diseases and cancer, making it an important target for clinical research and potential therapeutic interventions.
DMAB-CBAS117 is suitable for use in ELISA(Cap), ELISA(Det) applications.
DMAB-CBAS117 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), carrier-free, with optional 0.09% sodium azide. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
