General Notes
Thrombin, the protease cleavage product of prothrombin by prothrombinase,prothrombin is a two-chain protein consisting of an amino-terminal A chain disulfide-bonded to a carboxyl-terminal B chain. Thrombin has numerous physiological roles including cleavage of Aa and Bβ peptides of fibrinogen to form fibrin, activation of factor V, factor VIII, and protein C, and platelet activation via cleavage of PAR-1 and PAR-4. This clone binds immobilized human thrombin, prothrombin pre-thrombin 1 and pre-thrombin 2 in ELISA.
