General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL5593) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human SCNN1A, targeting the amino acid region 112–543 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human SCNN1A from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. The SCNN1A gene encodes the alpha subunit of the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC), a heterotrimeric protein complex composed of alpha, beta, and gamma subunits that facilitates the reabsorption of sodium ions across the apical membranes of epithelial cells in organs such as the kidney, lung, colon, and sweat glands. This channel is constitutively active, amiloride-sensitive, and plays a critical role in maintaining extracellular fluid volume, blood pressure, and electrolyte balance by allowing sodium entry into cells, which drives water reabsorption and is regulated by hormones like aldosterone via the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. The SCNN1A protein features two transmembrane domains, an intracellular amino- and carboxy-terminus, and a cysteine-rich extracellular loop, sharing 32-37% sequence identity with its beta and gamma counterparts, and the gene itself spans 14 exons across approximately 30 kb on chromosome 12p13.31.
CABT-BL5593 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
CABT-BL5593 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
