Introduction
TROVE2 (TROVEdomain family member 2), also known as 60 kD Ro/SSA autoantigen, is an RNAbinding protein that binds to several small cytoplasmic noncoding RNAmolecules of unknown function known as Y RNAs. It may stabilize these RNAsfrom degradation. TROVE2 also binds misfolded 5S rRNA precursors suggestingit may function in a quality control pathway for ribosome biogenesis. The 60kD Ro/SSA autoantigen is recognized by autoantibodies in certain lupuserythematosus and Sjogren syndrome.
