General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-21559) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PON1, targeting the amino acid region 35–206 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human PON1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) is a multifunctional, calcium-dependent enzyme encoded by the PON1 gene on human chromosome 7q21.3, belonging to the paraoxonase family alongside PON2 and PON3. Primarily synthesized in the liver and secreted into the bloodstream, where it associates exclusively with high-density lipoproteins (HDL), PON1 exhibits arylesterase, lactonase, and organophosphate hydrolase activities, hydrolyzing toxic metabolites of organophosphorus insecticides (such as paraoxon from parathion) and nerve agents (like sarin and soman), while also contributing to antioxidant defense by metabolizing oxidized lipids. Its structure consists of 354 amino acids forming a 39-42 kDa monomer that dimerizes to approximately 92-96 kDa, featuring a retained signal peptide, complex glycosylation for stability, and conserved cysteines involved in disulfide bonding and antioxidant functions.
DPABH-21559 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-21559 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
