This product (Catalog No. DPABH-00787) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human MMP3, targeting the amino acid region 401–477 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with MMP3 from mouse, rat, dog, pig, horse, sheep, and guineapig. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. This gene encodes an enzyme which degrades fibronectin, laminin, collagens III, IV, IX, and X, and cartilage proteoglycans. The enzyme is thought to be involved in wound repair, progression of atherosclerosis, and tumor initiation. The gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes which localize to chromosome 11q22.3.
DPABH-00787 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application.
DPABH-00787 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
