General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-00700) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human MMP3, targeting the amino acid region 100–477 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Matrix metalloproteinase 3 (MMP3), also known as stromelysin-1, is a zinc-dependent endopeptidase encoded by the MMP3 gene on human chromosome 11q22.3 that plays a central role in extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation and tissue remodeling. The protein consists of 477 amino acids, featuring a signal peptide, a propeptide domain that maintains latency, a catalytic domain responsible for proteolytic activity, a hinge region, and a hemopexin-like domain that aids in substrate specificity and inhibitor binding. MMP3 exhibits broad substrate specificity, cleaving ECM components such as proteoglycans, fibronectin, laminin, and collagens types III, IV, IX, and X, as well as non-matrix proteins like growth factors and other proteases, thereby facilitating processes like wound healing, embryonic development, and angiogenesis.
DPABH-00700 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-00700 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
