This product (Catalog No. DPABH-26756) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human LTF, targeting the amino acid region 611–710 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with LTF from mouse, rat, dog, pig, cow, horse, and sheep. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. This gene is a member of the transferrin family of genes and its protein product is found in the secondary granules of neutrophils. The protein is a major iron-binding protein in milk and body secretions with an antimicrobial activity, making it an important component of the non-specific immune system. The protein demonstrates a broad spectrum of properties, including regulation of iron homeostasis, host defense against a broad range of microbial infections, anti-inflammatory activity, regulation of cellular growth and differentiation and protection against cancer development and metastasis. Antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal and antiparasitic activity has been found for this protein and its peptides. Activity against both DNA and RNA viruses has been found, including activity against SARS-CoV-2, and HIV.
DPABH-26756 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), flow cytometry (FC) (1 μg/test) applications.
DPABH-26756 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
