General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-24080) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human EFHD2. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with EFHD2 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. EFHD2, also known as Swiprosin-1, is a gene that encodes a conserved calcium-binding adaptor protein belonging to the EF-hand domain family, characterized by two EF-hand motifs that facilitate calcium sensing and binding. This protein is highly expressed in both the central nervous system and immune cells, where it plays critical roles in modulating intracellular calcium responses, actin cytoskeleton dynamics, and microtubule-based transport. EFHD2 functions as a negative regulator of the canonical NF-κB signaling pathway and influences B-cell receptor-induced apoptosis in immature and primary B cells, thereby contributing to immune homeostasis. In the nervous system, it has been linked to neuronal processes and is implicated in neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, potentially through its involvement in amyloid-beta pathology and synaptic function. Additionally, EFHD2 exhibits cell type-specific activities, including regulation of T-cell receptor signaling to promote T helper 1 (Th1) and Th17 differentiation during immune responses like sepsis. Its dysregulation has also been associated with various cancers, highlighting its broader implications in cellular proliferation and survival pathways.
DPABH-24080 is suitable for use in IF/ICC 1 (100-1:500), WB 1 (500-1:2000) applications.
DPABH-24080 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
