Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to a region derived from internal residues of human cadherin 1, type 1, E-cadherin (epithelial)
General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-03700) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human CDH1. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with CDH1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by protein A. This gene encodes a classical cadherin of the cadherin superfamily. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate the mature glycoprotein. This calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion protein is comprised of five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region and a highly conserved cytoplasmic tail. Mutations in this gene are correlated with gastric, breast, colorectal, thyroid and ovarian cancer. Loss of function of this gene is thought to contribute to cancer progression by increasing proliferation, invasion, and/or metastasis. The ectodomain of this protein mediates bacterial adhesion to mammalian cells and the cytoplasmic domain is required for internalization. This gene is present in a gene cluster with other members of the cadherin family on chromosome 16.
DPABH-03700 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), IHC (1:30–1:150) applications.
DPABH-03700 is supplied as a liquid formulation in pH7.4 PBS, 0.05% sodium azide, 40% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
