General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-10795) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human ATG4C. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with ATG4C from mouse. It has been affinity purified by protein A. Autophagy is the process by which endogenous proteins and damaged organelles are destroyed intracellularly. Autophagy is postulated to be essential for cell homeostasis and cell remodeling during differentiation, metamorphosis, non-apoptotic cell death, and aging. Reduced levels of autophagy have been described in some malignant tumors, and a role for autophagy in controlling the unregulated cell growth linked to cancer has been proposed. This gene encodes a member of the autophagin protein family. The encoded protein is also designated as a member of the C-54 family of cysteine proteases. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding the same protein, have been characterized.
DPABH-10795 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:3,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), IF (immunofluorescence) (1:100–1:500) applications.
DPABH-10795 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
