Introduction
Hantaan virus (HTNV) is a negative-sense, single-stranded RNA virus belonging to the genus Orthohantavirus within the family Hantaviridae. It is one of the most clinically important Old World hantaviruses and is the primary causative agent of severe hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), a zoonotic disease characterized by fever, vascular leakage, hemorrhage, and acute kidney injury.
