Abstract
In their focal article, Cucina, Walmsley, Gast, Martin, and Curtin (2017) raise an important and timely issue, but go too far in arguing that practitioners should abandon survey key driver analysis (SKDA) altogether. There are many valuable benefits to using SKDA, and rather than discontinuing the practice entirely, we suggest that a better approach is to focus on ways to make it even more valuable to organizations. It is true that this area is in need of further research, but instead of asking whether we are driving down the right road, perhaps the right question is, "Are we there yet?" We will organize our commentary into three sections. First, we provide a short summary of concerns with the primary study sample and conclusions. Second, we dig into the purported methodological issues with SKDA. Finally, we will summarize the reasons why we believe the focal article overstates the flaws of SKDA, and instead we put forth an argument for the practical utility and benefit of such analyses.

Abstract
Topical bioassays of 11 insecticides were conducted with the R. T. Gast Insect Rearing laboratory colony (GAST-LAB) and 22 field collections of boil weevils, Anthonomus grandis grandis Boheman, from 11 parishes in Louisiana. The order of toxicity of the insecticides tested against the GAST-LAB colony from most to least toxic was cyfluthrin > zeta-cypermethrin > fipronil [(+/-)-5-amino-1-(2,6-dichloro-alpha,alpha,alpha-trifluoro-p-tolyl)-4-tri-fluoromethylsulfinylpyrazole-3-carbonitrile] > deltamethrin > azinphosmethyl > cypermethrin > methyl parathion > Pirate(R) [4-bromo-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-(ethoxymethyl)-5-(trifluoromethyl)-pyrrole-3-carbonitrile] > oxamyl > endosulfan > malathion. There was no conclusive evidence of resistance to any of the 11 insecticides bioassayed against field-collected boil weevils, although LD(50)'s for cypermethrin, cyfluthrin, malathion, and oxamyl were highly variable. The LD(50) values for deltamethrin, endosulfan fipronil, oxamyl, Pirate(R), and zeta-cypermethrin will serve as baseline data for future studies.
