Intended Use

The human LL-37 ELISA kit is to be used for measurement of human LL-37 in serum samples.This ELISA Kit is for research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedures.

Storage

Store the lyophilized components and standard diluent at -20°C for up to one year from the kit's assembly date. The remaining components should be stored in the refrigerator (4-8°C) also up to 1 year.
Note: Long term storage, improper storage conditions and large temperature fluctuation cycles may cause precipitates in the TMB solution and in the ELISA buffer concentrate. These precipitates should not affect the assay noticeably. Nevertheless, if you observe such precipitates, we recommend to avoid them by allowing them to sink to the bottom.

General Description

LL-37 is an antimicrobial peptide that belongs to the cathelicidin family of peptides. This peptide corresponds to the sequence of the first amphipathic alpha-helical peptide isolated from human. LL-37 plays an important role in the first line of defense against local infection and systemic invasion of pathogens at sites of inflammation and wounds. Also, LL-37 is significantly resistant to proteolytic degradation in solution. This ELISA was developed with serum from rabbits immunized with LL-37 coupled to a carrier protein.
