This product (Catalog No. DPABH-04926) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human VCP, targeting the amino acid region 125–371 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human VCP from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Valosin-containing protein (VCP), also known as p97, is a ubiquitous and abundant AAA+ ATPase enzyme that functions as a molecular segregase, extracting and unfolding ubiquitinated proteins to facilitate their degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome system and other pathways. It assembles into a barrel-shaped hexameric complex with ATPase activity powered by ATP hydrolysis, enabling it to mediate essential cellular processes including endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD), autophagy, mitochondrial quality control, and DNA damage repair. Expressed at high levels in eukaryotic cells—comprising approximately 1% of cytoplasmic proteins—VCP interacts with over 40 cofactors to regulate protein homeostasis, organelle dynamics, and genome stability, with dysfunction linked to neurodegenerative and multisystem disorders.
DPABH-04926 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-04926 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
