Abstract
A novel synthetic route of Zn-decavanadate hybrid material was elaborated in a one-pot procedure using water as the solvent and ammonium tetramethyl hydroxide as a base. The crystalline compound [Zn(H2O)(2)](2)(Me4N)(2)[V10O28] center dot 2H(2)O with zinc-to-vanadium ratios of 2:10 was isolated and characterized unam- biguously by single-crystal X-ray analysis (SCXRD), power X-ray diffraction (PXRD), infrared spectra (IR) and elemental analyses. It's single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the decavanadate cage-like structure [V10O28](6-) form the discrete anionic cluster which associated to binary cationic groups, two Me4N+ cations and one [Zn(H2O)(6)](2+) cation, into the neutral [Zn(H2O)(2)](2)(Me4N)(2) [V10O28] center dot 2H(2)O organic-inorganic hybrid material. The principal feature of the crystal supramolecularity is non-covalent weak interactions from two cations and decavanadates forming the 3D framework. Interestingly, the title compound exhibit extraordinary heterogeneous catalytic performance (up to Com 99.6% and Sele. 98.7%) in the cycloaddition of CO2 under solvent-free conditions.
