This product (Catalog No. DPABH-16497) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human RAB7A. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with RAB7A from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. RAB family members are small, RAS-related GTP-binding proteins that are important regulators of vesicular transport. Each RAB protein targets multiple proteins that act in exocytic / endocytic pathways. This gene encodes a RAB family member that regulates vesicle traffic in the late endosomes and also from late endosomes to lysosomes. This encoded protein is also involved in the cellular vacuolation of the VacA cytotoxin of Helicobacter pylori. Mutations at highly conserved amino acid residues in this gene have caused some forms of Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) type 2 neuropathies. DPABH-16497 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application. DPABH-16497 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.01% thimerosal, 50% glycerol, pH7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
