General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-17924) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human NOS1, targeting the amino acid region 1193–1393 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human NOS1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. NOS1, also known as nitric oxide synthase 1, is a protein-coding gene located on the long arm of human chromosome 12 at position 12q24.22 that encodes the enzyme neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS), a calcium/calmodulin-dependent member of the nitric oxide synthase family. This enzyme catalyzes the five-electron oxidation of L-arginine to produce nitric oxide (NO) and L-citrulline, utilizing cofactors such as NADPH, FAD, FMN, heme, and tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4). NO serves as a versatile signaling molecule and unorthodox neurotransmitter, diffusing across cell membranes to mediate diverse physiological processes including neurotransmission in the central and peripheral nervous systems, vasodilation, smooth muscle relaxation, and antimicrobial activities.
DPABH-17924 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-17924 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
