General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-27015) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human KCNMB2. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with KCNMB2 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by protein A. MaxiK channels are large conductance, voltage and calcium-sensitive potassium channels which are fundamental to the control of smooth muscle tone and neuronal excitability. MaxiK channels can be formed by 2 subunits: the pore-forming alpha subunit and the modulatory beta subunit. The protein encoded by this gene is an auxiliary beta subunit which decreases the activation time of MaxiK alpha subunit currents. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants of this gene. Additional variants are discussed in the literature, but their full length nature has not been described. DPABH-27015 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:3,000) application. DPABH-27015 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
