This product (Catalog No. DPABH-09133) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human IGHG4, targeting the amino acid region 211–310 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with IGHG4 from mouse and horse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. IGHG4 is a protein-coding gene located on the human chromosome 14q32.33 that encodes the constant region of the immunoglobulin heavy chain gamma 4 (IgG4), one of the four subclasses of human IgG antibodies involved in humoral immunity and antigen recognition. The IgG4 subclass, produced by plasma cells, plays a key role in anti-inflammatory responses, allergy mediation, and immune tolerance, often exhibiting unique properties such as Fab-arm exchange that reduces effector functions compared to other IgG isotypes. Predicted to enable antigen binding and immunoglobulin receptor binding activities, IGHG4 contributes to antibacterial humoral immune responses and is expressed primarily in immune tissues like the spleen and lymph nodes. Dysregulation of IGHG4 has been associated with conditions such as thrombocytopenia and certain cancers, including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, where it serves as a prognostic marker. The gene produces two transcript variants and is part of the immunoglobulin heavy chain locus, highlighting its evolutionary conservation in adaptive immunity.
DPABH-09133 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application.
DPABH-09133 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
