General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-03953) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human GH1, targeting the amino acid region 27–217 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Growth hormone 1 (GH1) is a gene on chromosome 17q23.3 that encodes the protein somatotropin, a 191-amino-acid polypeptide hormone essential for regulating growth, cell reproduction, and metabolism in humans. The GH1 gene is part of a five-gene cluster on chromosome 17, including related genes such as CSH1, CSH2, GH2, and CSHL1, all derived from a common ancestor and sharing high sequence similarity. The encoded growth hormone is synthesized exclusively by somatotropic cells in the anterior pituitary gland and has a molecular mass of 22,005 daltons, featuring two disulfide bridges; alternative splicing can produce a 20-kDa variant. Its secretion is stimulated by growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) from the hypothalamus and ghrelin from the stomach, peaking during puberty and declining after age 55.
DPABH-03953 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-03953 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
