General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-08500) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human GABRG2, targeting the amino acid region 42–274 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human GABRG2 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. GABRG2 (gamma-aminobutyric acid type A receptor subunit gamma2), which is expected to be located in cell membrane and expressed in brain and retina. The calculated molecular weight of the protein is 54 kDa. GABA is the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the mammlian brain, where it acts at GABA-A receptors, which are ligand-gated chloride channels. GABA-A receptors are pentameric, consisting of proteins from several subunit classes: alpha, beta, gamma, delta and rho. Mutations in this gene have been associated with epilepsy and febrile seizures.
DPABH-08500 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), IP (0.5-4.0 μg for 1.0-3.0 mg of total protein lysate), IF-P (1:50–1:500) applications.
DPABH-08500 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
