This product (Catalog No. DPABH-25511) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CYP26A1, targeting the amino acid region 73–255 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human CYP26A1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. CYP26A1 is a human gene that encodes cytochrome P450 family 26 subfamily A member 1, a monooxygenase enzyme primarily responsible for the 4-hydroxylation of all-trans-retinoic acid (atRA), a key active metabolite of vitamin A, thereby regulating endogenous retinoid levels in embryonic and adult tissues. Located on chromosome 10q23.33, the gene produces two alternatively spliced isoforms of the CYP26A1 protein, which functions in the endoplasmic reticulum to catalyze the initial steps in atRA catabolism, converting it to polar metabolites like 4-hydroxy-RA and 18-hydroxy-RA, with an intrinsic clearance rate over 800-fold higher than other cytochrome P450 enzymes involved in retinoid metabolism.
DPABH-25511 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-25511 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
