This product (Catalog No. DPABH-26273) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CTSS, targeting the amino acid region 115–331 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Cathepsin S (CTSS), also known as CatS, is a lysosomal cysteine protease belonging to the papain-like family of cathepsins, characterized by its broad pH activity range (5–7.5) that enables both intracellular and extracellular functions. It is synthesized as an inactive zymogen, preprocathepsin S, in the endoplasmic reticulum, and matures through proteolytic cleavage in the acidic lysosomal environment, resulting in a 217-amino-acid active enzyme with a catalytic triad of Cys25, His159, and Asn175. Primarily expressed in professional antigen-presenting cells such as macrophages, dendritic cells, B lymphocytes, and microglia, CatS plays essential roles in protein degradation, antigen processing for MHC class II presentation, and extracellular matrix remodeling.
DPABH-26273 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-26273 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
