General Description
Tropomyosin receptor kinase B (TRKB) is a high-affinity catalytic receptor for neurotrophins and is part of a large family of tyrosine kinases. Once activated by specific neurotrophins, such as brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), TRKB mediates neuronal differentiation and survival. TRKB and BDNF have been associated with the pathology and progression of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. More recently as a member of TRK proto-oncogene family, TRKB inhibitors have become of interest as a possible cancer therapy.
The TRKB Kinase Assay Kit is designed to measure TRKB kinase activity for screening and profiling applications using ADP-Glo® as a detection reagent. The assay kit comes in a convenient 96-well format, with enough purified recombinant TRKB kinase, kinase substrate, ATP and kinase assay buffer for 100 enzyme reactions.
