Q: How have the cells been lysed to release proteins for raising the antibodies? Would intranuclear proteins be released?
A: In antibody production, cell lysis aims to disrupt cell structure and release cellular contents (including proteins). Common methods include physical lysis, chemical lysis, and enzymatic lysis.
During cell lysis, nucleoproteins may be released. If the lysis method is sufficiently drastic (such as the lysis conditions used during kit development), nucleoproteins will be released along with other HCPs.
The polyclonal antibodies used in this SF9 HCP ELISA kit recognize a variety of HCPs, including nucleoproteins, making it suitable for comprehensive residual protein detection in biological products (such as vaccines and AAV vectors).
Note: In actual testing, to ensure effective detection of nucleoproteins, sample pretreatment must follow the lysis steps specified in the kit.
