This product (Catalog No. DPATB-H81782) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human LIAS. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with LIAS from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the biotin and lipoic acid synthetases family. Localized in the mitochondrion, this iron-sulfur enzyme catalyzes the final step in the de novo pathway for the biosynthesis of lipoic acid, a potent antioxidant. The deficient expression of this enzyme has been linked to conditions such as diabetes, atherosclerosis and neonatal-onset epilepsy. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus, and several transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. DPATB-H81782 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), IHC (1:50–1:200) applications. DPATB-H81782 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS containing 50% glycerol, and 0.02% sodium azide. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
