Animals were immunized subcutaneously with purified, intact bovine calf acetylcholine receptor. Spleen cells were fused with Y3 myeloma cells. The antibody is specific for the alpha subunit of AChR and does not react with the main immunogenic region of AChR. The antibody a has low affinity for S. aureus protein A.
