Product Overview
A DNA sequence encoding the Influenza B (B/Phuket/3073/2013) nucleoprotein (translated amino acids of EPI1649065) (Met1-Tyr560) was expressed with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
Molecular Weight
The recombinant nucleoprotein of Influenza B (B/Phuket/3073/2013) consists of 571 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 63.1 kDa.
Endotoxin
< 1.0 EU per μg protein as determined by the LAL method.
Alternative Names
Influenzavirus B; Influenza B virus; IBV; IBV Nucleoprotein; IBV NP
Purity
> 90 % as determined by SDS-PAGE
Buffer
Lyophilized from sterile 20 mM Tris, 500 mM NaCl, pH 8.0, 10 % glycerol. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose, mannitol and 0.01% Tween80 are added as protectants before lyophilization.
Storage
Store it under sterile conditions at -20°C to -80°C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Introduction
Influenza virus NP is a major structural protein in virus particles and has multiple functions in the viral infectious cycle. It is a basic protein rich in arginine with a net positive charge of +14 at pH 6.5. In vitro it binds to RNA nonspecifically, yet in vivo NP binds only to complete cRNA (plus polarity) and vRNA (minus polarity), forming cRNP and vRNP, respectively, and does not bind to viral mRNA (plus polarity) possessing 5′ cap and 3′ poly(A) sequences.
Keywords
Influenzavirus B; Influenza B virus; IBV; IBV Nucleoprotein; IBV NP
