General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-L1311W) is a rat-derived monoclonal antibody raised against human TJP1. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with TJP1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Tight junction (or zonula occludens) form the continuous intercellular barrier between epithelial and endothelial cells, which is required to separate tissue spaces and regulate selective movement of solutes across the epithelium and endothelium. ZO-1 (also known as TJP1) is a peripheral membrane phosphoprotein located on the cytoplasmic face and is expressed in tight junctions of both epithelial and endothelial cells. It binds the transmembrane proteins occludin and the claudins linking them to cytoskeletal actin. ZO-1 belongs to a family of multidomain proteins known as the membraneassociated guanylate kinase homologs (MAGUKs). It is a pivotal tight junction protein and may be involved in signaling mechanisms regulating cell proliferation and differentiation. CABT-L1311W is suitable for use in IF (immunofluorescence) (1:100) application. CABT-L1311W is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.1% sodium azide. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
