General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-L1591W) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human HCRTR2. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human HCRTR2 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. HCRTR2 (hypocretin receptor type 2) is a Gq-coupled, seven-transmembrane GPCR that binds both orexin-A and orexin-B with high affinity, triggering phospholipase C-mediated IP₃–Ca²⁺ signaling to stabilize wakefulness, control feeding, and modulate reward pathways. Selectively expressed in hypothalamic, brain-stem, and limbic nuclei, its loss-of-function mutations cause canine and human narcolepsy, and dual orexin receptor antagonists (e.g., suvorexant) that block HCRTR2 are approved for insomnia, while orexin agonists are in development for narcolepsy-cataplexy.
CABT-L1591W is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), IHC (1:50–1:200) applications.
CABT-L1591W is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
