General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-L1577W) is a mouse-derived monoclonal antibody raised against human DAB1, targeting the amino acid region 199–248 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human DAB1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. DAB1, or DAB adaptor protein 1, is a gene that encodes an intracellular signaling adaptor protein known as Disabled homolog 1, which plays a central role in the Reelin-mediated signaling pathway to regulate the migration, positioning, and layering of neurons during brain development. This protein interacts with lipoprotein receptors such as VLDLR and APOER2 upon Reelin binding, undergoing tyrosine phosphorylation to transduce extracellular signals that control neuronal somal translocation, microtubule dynamics via tau (MAPT) modulation, and proper laminar organization in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, and cerebellum. Essential for normal cognitive function, DAB1 deficiency in animal models disrupts cortical layering and mimics the reeler phenotype, highlighting its non-redundant function in glia-independent neuronal migration.
CABT-L1577W is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application.
CABT-L1577W is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
