This product (Catalog No. DMAB-CPT731) is a rabbit-derived monoclonal antibody raised against human CBX1. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. CBX1, officially known as chromobox 1, is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes chromobox protein homolog 1 (HP1β), a highly conserved non-histone chromosomal protein belonging to the heterochromatin protein 1 (HP1) family. Located on chromosome 17q21.32, the gene consists of six exons and produces a 185-amino acid protein through alternative splicing variants that yield identical isoforms. This protein is a key component of constitutive heterochromatin, where it associates with centromeres and contributes to the epigenetic control of chromatin structure and gene expression by binding to methylated histone tails and other chromatin-associated factors.
DMAB-CPT731 is suitable for use in CBA(Cap), ELISA(Cap) applications.
