General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-20583) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CBX1, targeting the amino acid region 60–115 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human CBX1 from mouse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. CBX1 (chromobox 1), also known as CBX. It is expected to be located in nucleus, the protein is expressed in all adult and embryonic tissues. It is a member of the heterochromatin protein family. CBX1 is enriched in the heterochromatin and associated with centromeres. The protein has a single N-terminal chromodomain which can bind to histone proteins via methylated lysine residues, and a C-terminal chromo shadow-domain (CSD) which is responsible for the homodimerization and interaction with a number of chromatin-associated nonhistone proteins. It may play an important role in the epigenetic control of chromatin structure and gene expression. The calculated molecular weight of CBX1 is 21 kDa. DPABH-20583 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) application. DPABH-20583 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
