General Notes
This antibody recognises Gemtuzumab in Western blots and direct ELISA. Gemtuzumab ozogamicin (Mylotarg) is an antibody-drug conjugate composed of a humanized anti-CD33 monoclonal antibody linked to the cytotoxic agent calicheamicin. It is approved for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in certain patients. The drug targets CD33, a protein expressed on the surface of myeloid cells, delivering the cytotoxic agent directly to the cancer cells and inducing cell death while sparing normal cells.
