General Description

Bisphenol S (BPS) is an industrial chemical and a structural analogue of bisphenol A, which is used to make hard plastic items and synthetic fibers for clothing and other textiles. In recent years, BPS has been widely used as a substitute for bisphenol A. However, many studies have shown that BPS has endocrine disrupting activity along with bisphenol A. In animal studies, BPS has been shown to hinder myocardial infarction (MI) recovery, induce cardiac arrhythmias and cause cardiac developmental deformities. (Zhang, Y.
