This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL3758) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human VDAC2. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with VDAC2 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. This gene encodes a member of the voltage-dependent anion channel pore-forming family of proteins that are considered the main pathway for metabolite diffusion across the mitochondrial outer membrane. The encoded protein is also thought to be involved in the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway via regulation of BCL2-antagonist/killer 1 protein activity. Pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 1, 2, 12 and 21, and alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. CABT-BL3758 is suitable for use in IHC (1:50–1:200) application. CABT-BL3758 is supplied as a liquid formulation in pH7.4 PBS, 0.05% sodium azide, 40% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
