Borrelia BmpA [His], recombinant protein from E. coli
Recombinant Borrelia afzelii BmpA antigen. Expressed in E. coli bacterial cells. Full-length cDNA coding for Borrelia afzelii BmpA fused to a hexa-histidine purification tag.
neutral to slightly alkaline pH and 20 % glycerol as cryoprotective agent.

Borrelia afzelii is a species of Borrelia that can infect various species of vertebrate and invertebrates. Among thirty Borrelia known species, it is one of 4 which is likely to infect humans causing a variant of Lyme disease. It seems fairly common that coinfection combine this Borrelia specie to another one or to other pathogens carried by the vector, which appears to be in most cases the tick.
